This is one of the very special “Big Ben” series. It was an old growth Fir from Oregon that died in a fire a few years ago. This tree had a name and a story, and I am excited to give it a new life and see it out there bringing joy to the world!
This is a contrabass in A, with a very low and deep tone. Standard tuning. The body is Fir with Maple Burl and Paduk accents. I offset the holes at the top and at the bottom which makes it very manageable for such a low flute!
Please note, It might take us a few weeks to make your flute. Wood is a natural material and each piece is unique. Your flute will be made out of the same wood but might have a different grain than the picture. All of our flutes use a water based finish in and out. The leather straps will be deer or elk depending on availability.
